The day between

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” (2 Cor. 5:21)

Friday:
The curtain is torn.
Grace has won.

Saturday:
The cross is empty.
The tomb is sealed.
. . .
It seems that death has won.

Saturday — the forgotten day. The day that it seemed grace had not won. The day that was dark, and hopeless, because death defeated Him. It is a challenge to sit in this day with the full knowledge that the day between, some 2000 years ago, was fraught with questions and sadness. The story had not yet been written. There was no final chapter to skip ahead and read.

There was only the weight of an empty cross and an occupied tomb.
