I’m really rotten about keeping up with something for 30 solid days. I’m sure there is merit in being mindful about something you’re thankful for every day, but I try to be mindful even if I don’t post or share about it.
So, here’s a non-inclusive list of the things for which I am thankful:
- Good conversations
- Tex-Mex
- Good conversations while eating Tex-Mex
- Books
- Friendships (If I named every single person I’m thankful for, I would take up all 30 spots and leave someone out on accident, so I’m giving myself a wide berth)
- JK Rowling
- Kleenex
- Clean water
- hot water
- cold water
- Music
- HPPC
- Chocolate chip muffins
- Spotify
- Shoes that fit and are comfortable
- Rubber duckies. . because, how can you be sad while looking at a rubber duck?
- DrPepper from a soda fountain
- Puppy cuddles
- Really good hugs
- game nights
- Laughing really hard
- Naps
- Air conditioner
- Low humidity
- Beaches
- Stars
- Toothpaste
- A good cleansing cry
- Curiosity
- Chocolate
It’s my thought that it’s really easy to be thankful for the big things. Like, grace, or a job, your house, a car, or whatever else it is. But the smaller things, the seemingly insignificant things that add up to be the big things are what get overlooked.
May we walk through this month, and every other month, with open hearts and minds to be thankful for the small things.
Peace be the journey.
