I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. . .mostly because I either forget I made them or make them so stupidly unreachable that there’s no way I can meet them. Conventional wisdom would say to modify the resolutions I make and to make them more attainable, but my wisdom says to ditch them altogether.
Instead, I’ve compiled 20 things I’m looking forward to in 2020.
- Sunsets on the beach
- Making Santa Rosa Beach home
- Going to Disney World
- Doing church at Point Washington
- Building relationships with kids and their families at PWUMC
- Building my own relationships and friendships in Florida
- Visiting Dallas
- Reading more books than I read in 2019
- Writing more than I wrote in 2019
- Having good hair days
- Working hard so I can play harder
- Eating good meals and having good conversations with good people
- Getting good sleep
- Finding art to put on my walls in my house
- Getting all the snuggles from my cuddly puppy
- Actually having a tan
- Good hugs
- Seeing movies that make me laugh or cry (or both)
- watching the sun come up over the bay
- Choosing joy … even in the muck
Even though there is nothing magical about the start of a new year, it is an exciting prospect. Here’s to looking ahead with great expectancy!
Peace be the journey.
