For he became sin who knew no sin, that we might become the righteousness of God
. . .I . . . just. . .I read that and I cannot comprehend it. Jesus — who was not sinful was counted sinful so that I — who IS sinful will be counted as righteous. I think back over my life the past week or so (because there’s no real need to go back further), and all of the sinfulness that has plagued my heart and mind and I ache. My heart aches at the thought that I am counted righteous because he was counted sinful.
That is love.
And sometimes love has to drive a nail into its own hand.
