That old animal cracker.

Today, at preschool, one of my kids didn’t eat much of his lunch. It was a nice lunch, a nut butter sandwich on whole grain bread, string cheese, strawberries, and tomatoes. He picked at it, but left quite a bit. Not long after, he walked by an old animal cracker on the floor, bent down and said, “I eat dis”. (Don’t worry. We didn’t let him). I couldn’t, for the life of me, figure out why he would forgo his tasty lunch for another’s leftovers on the floor. Why?? Why would you do that? You had a perfect lunch that you chose not to eat. . .then I realized . . . That’s all of us.

That is all of us when we bypass the life we were meant to live, the life that we were given on the cross of Christ, for a lesser life. A soggy life, discarded onto the floor. There’s so much more than the old animal cracker.
